At PagoBoom you may request the deletion of your account and your personal data at any time. This page explains the procedure, the prior requirements, the response times and what happens to your information once the request is deemed appropriate.
Deleting your account constitutes the exercise of the right of cancellation provided for among the ARCO Rights of our Privacy Notice, and is therefore handled under the same procedure and the same time periods established therein.
How do you request the deletion of your account?
Send an email to customer_care@pagoboom.mx, addressed to the Personal Data Protection Department / Customer Service Team, with the subject line Account deletion.
So that we can identify you and process your request, the email must include:
- •Your full name.
- •The mobile phone number with which you registered in the application.
- •Photographs of the front and back of your valid voter credential (INE).
- •A photograph of yourself holding your voter credential (INE), in which your face and the front of the credential can be clearly seen.
The request must be sent by you, as the account holder. For this procedure, the voter credential (INE) is the only identification document we accept.
You do not need to fill out any form inside the application: it is enough for your email to contain the information indicated above. You may also ask us for the ARCO Rights exercise form described in the Privacy Notice.
Prior requirements
Before sending your request, please consider the following:
- •You must have no outstanding loans or pending debts. If you have an active loan or an overdue payment, you must pay it in full before your request can be processed.
- •You must have no loan application in progress. Wait until the review process has concluded before requesting the deletion of your account.
If you are unsure about the status of your debts, write to us at the same address and we will gladly inform you before you start the procedure.
How long does the process take?
PagoBoom will respond to your request after 20 business days counted from the date on which it was received. This period may be extended for up to 20 additional business days, when the case warrants it, with prior notice to you.
If the request is deemed appropriate, the deletion will become effective within the following 15 business days. We will communicate the resolution adopted through the same channel by which you sent your request.
The periods above are the maximum ones provided for by the applicable regulations. In practice, most requests are handled within a considerably shorter time.
What happens to your personal data?
Once the deletion becomes effective, your account is closed permanently: you will not be able to access it again or recover your history within the application.
The personal data that identifies you is deleted from our systems. However, certain information must be retained even after deletion where the applicable legal provisions so require, including:
- •The reporting obligations before the Credit Information Companies or Credit Bureaus, in accordance with the Law to Regulate Credit Information Companies (LRSIC).
- •The obligations regarding the prevention of operations with resources of illicit origin and terrorism financing.
- •The retention of records of the transactions entered into, for as long as obligations arising from the legal relationship subsist.
Details about the purposes of the processing, the retention and the transfer of your personal data can be found in our Privacy Notice.
What happens to your loans?
Deleting your account does not extinguish, forgive or modify the payment obligations you may have contracted with PagoBoom. Any pending debt subsists under the agreed terms, remains enforceable and stays subject to the corresponding reporting before the Credit Information Companies or Credit Bureaus.
For this reason, paying off your debts in full is a prior requirement for your request to be processed.
